God, Speak to Me

by BlondieWrites on September 4, 2009

The man whispered, “God, speak to me” and a meadowlark sang.

But, the man did not hear. So the man yelled, “God, speak to me” and the thunder rolled across the sky.

But, the man did not listen. The man looked around and said, “God let me see you.” And a star shone brightly.

But the man did not see. And, the man shouted, “God show me a miracle.” And, a life was born.

But, the man did not notice. So, the man cried out in despair, “Touch me God, and let me know you are here.” Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.

But, the man brushed the butterfly away .. and walked on.

Don’t miss out on a blessing because it isn’t packaged the way that you expect.

Flying Above the Storm

by BlondieWrites on September 4, 2009

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.

When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it high above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring high above it, gliding with ease. The eagle does not escape the storm, it just simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm into its world.

When the storms of life come upon us — and all of us will experience them — we can rise above them by setting our minds and faith toward God!!!

The storms do not have to overcome us.

We can allow God to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that brings sickness, pain, tragedy, failure and disappointments in our lives, and make something good come from it.

We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life which weigh us down, but it is how we handle them that counts.

In Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) it reads: “But they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

True Strength

by BlondieWrites on September 4, 2009

Anyone can give up. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together, when everything seems like falling apart, that’s true strength!

Who are the thieves of peace? Why is peace lost in relationships? Complaints, guilt and comparisons are the main destroyers of peace. Instead of complaining, share newness. Instead of looking for someone to blame, take responsibility for improving the situation. Instead of comparing yourself to others, value the good that is in them.

See through God’s eyes and feel through God’s heart and you will appreciate the value of every soul including yourself.

10 Rules for a Blessed Day

by BlondieWrites on September 4, 2009

1. TODAY I WILL NOT STRIKE BACK
If someone is rude, if someone is impatient, if someone is unkind, I will not respond in a like manner.

2. TODAY I WILL ASK GOD TO BLESS MY ‘ENEMY’
If I come across someone who treats me harshly or unfairly, I will quietly ask God to bless that individual. I understand “enemy” could be a family member, neighbor, co-worker, a stranger, or someone who used to be a friend. It could even be me.

3. TODAY I WILL BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT I SAY
I will carefully choose and guard my words being certain that I do not spread gossip.

4. TODAY I WILL GO THE EXTRA MILE
I will find ways to help share the burden of another person.

5. TODAY I WILL FORGIVE
I will forgive any hurts or injuries that come my way… not only for the person that wronged me, but forgive myself for wronging another.

6. TODAY I WILL DO SOMETHING KIND FOR SOMEONE, (BUT I WILL DO IT IN SECRET)
I will reach out anonymously and bless the life of another. I won’t tell people what I did because the blessing is not in uplifting myself for doing something but in God allowing me to be able to help another.

7. TODAY I WILL TREAT OTHERS THE WAY I WISH TO BE TREATED
I will practice the golden rule. “Do Unto others as I would have them do unto me”- with EVERYONE I encounter. I will remember that we all have bad days and sometimes we say things we don’t really mean but can’t take back. I won’t hold a bad day against someone when they might lash out at me.

8. TODAY I WILL RAISE THE SPIRITS OF SOMEONE WHO IS DISCOURAGED
My smile, my words, my expression of support, can make the difference to someone who is wrestling with life. In just being there for them, God also blesses me and I am encouraged because I know God is near.

9. TODAY I WILL NURTURE MY BODY
I will eat less, I will eat better, I will eat only healthy foods. I will thank God for my body. I will love me for me, and I will remember that not all will want me or love me, and I will be content in that.

10. TODAY I WILL GROW SPIRITUALLY
I will spend a little more time in prayer today. I will begin reading something spiritual or inspirational. I will find a quiet place (at some point during this day) and listen to God’s voice. I will know that I am not alone, that God is always present. I will know that I cannot change what has already happened but that I can place all things in my life in God’s hands and allow His will to be done. I will put my total trust in God, have faith in Him, and I will be still and listen.

Remember, today is a gift from God so treat it preciously.

Forgiveness: Do it for Yourself

by BlondieWrites on September 4, 2009

In the long run, it’s not a question of whether they deserve to be forgiven. We don’t deserve for God to forgive us. You’re not forgiving them for their sake. You’re doing it for yourself.

For your own health and well-being, forgiveness is simply the most energy-efficient option. It frees you from the incredibly toxic, debilitating drain of holding a grudge. Don’t let these people live rent free in your head.

If they hurt you before, why let them keep doing it year after year in your mind and heart? It’s not worth it but it takes heart effort to stop it. You can muster that heart power to forgive them, not so much for them, but as a way of looking out for yourself.

It’s one thing you can be totally selfish about. And if you don’t want to forgive them for your own benefit, you might even find it in you to forgive them because ….

Or you can harbor it all and just keep living with everything…

Forgiving is letting it go, setting free whatever happened in the past, letting go of things that can’t be changed or undone… freeing yourself from the pain, the burden, just everything.

Life’s Journey

by BlondieWrites on September 4, 2009

To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.

When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.

Remember this … The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

God bless you on your life’s journey.
